Question 1

What is Prepd?

Accepted Answer

Prepd is an interactive platform where software engineers practice system design (HLD), low-level design (LLD), and AI/ML system design through structured exercises and AI-driven mock interviews. It is designed to simulate real FAANG-style technical interviews.

Question 2

What topics does Prepd cover?

Accepted Answer

Prepd covers three main tracks: System Design (HLD) including distributed systems, caching, load balancing, and microservices; Low Level Design (LLD) including SOLID principles, design patterns, and API contracts; and AI/ML Systems including feature stores, model serving, recommendation engines, and MLOps.

Question 3

How do AI mock interviews work on Prepd?

Accepted Answer

Prepd's AI mock interviews simulate a real interviewer through a phased conversation flow: Requirements & Scope, Estimation, API Design, High-Level Architecture, Deep Dive, and Wrap-Up. The AI asks follow-up questions, evaluates your answers in real-time, and generates a detailed scorecard at the end.

Question 4

Is Prepd free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Prepd has a free Curious plan with 7 exercises per month, and free drills plus the first topic of the learning path can be tried without signing up. The five Design Lab games are included with any paid plan. Paid access is sold as one-time passes with no auto-renewal: Starter ($15) for 50 exercises per month, Serious ($29) adding 12 AI mock interviews, Focused ($49) and Relentless ($89) for the most practice. Passes come in 1, 6 and 12-month lengths, with the 6-month costing five months' price and the 12-month costing eight. Prices in India are in INR.

Question 5

What makes Prepd different from other interview prep platforms?

Accepted Answer

Prepd focuses on structured, phased practice that mirrors real interviews. Key differentiators include: AI-driven adaptive follow-up questions, real-time architecture diagram analysis via Excalidraw, voice-enabled smart interviews, a skill radar for tracking progress across 12+ dimensions, and Bring Your Own Question (BYOQ) to practice with any design question.
